Ryan and I would like to introduce our newest addition, Ezra Ryan. Ezra arrived on October 30, 2018, a week after his due date. He weighed 9 lbs 15 oz and measured 21 1/4 inches!
We found out we were expecting on Valentine’s Day this year. We had originally planned to wait until birth to find out if we were having a boy or a girl. Unfortunately, at 18 weeks I had a large bleed behind my placenta. The doctor told us we had a 50/50 chance of bringing this baby home. At that point, we decided we wanted to know if we were having a boy or a girl and we wanted to give him a name. We found out we were expecting our 3rd boy, and we couldn’t have been more excited.
I was put on bed rest for several weeks and started to see a high risk doctor. With the bleed at 18 weeks I started having contractions as well. We prayed I could carry the baby to 24 weeks or beyond. Thankfully, I did not bleed after being on bed rest and even though I had contractions through the rest of the pregnancy, I never went into preterm labor. In fact, he stayed in so well that I eventually had to be induced.
Ezra is a very laid back, happy baby. He is a great sleeper and can even sleep through the chaos of 2 older brothers. We are enjoying and adjusting to our new normal as a family of 5. We could not be more grateful that this journey ended with a happy, healthy baby. We are truly blessed.
